Londoninium
Another early start to day for my once a week trip to London. Lots of pretty scenery as I make my way on the hour trip to Marylebone, helped by the fact the snow had done its job and blanketed the more unsightly stuff with a dusting of snow.
The day however took a turn for the worst when Phil found out that his Nan had died, which was terrible news.
I've never met her but despite that, I still felt for Phil. Having lost most of my Grandparents when I was too young to remember them I've no real experience of losing a close relative. My Dads Mum died when I was about 15, but she suffered from Alzheimer’s for many years and so I'd never established a close relationship with her. My experience of mourning from that was more for my Dad than my Nan - I felt bad because of what he had to go through and just wished I could take some of that pain away.
And that’s now how I feel for Phil.
And after all of that news in one day, the evening only deteriorated further on my homeward bound trip due to a fire alert at Charing Cross, which left me stranded at Paddington for quite a while, only circumvented by a Taxi ride across to Marylebone and finally onwards to my destination.
Days probably don't get much worse than this.
