Feelin' Hot Hot Hot

Chillies
Tonguetastic

Ahhhh, freedom is regained today, I'm at liberty to do what I like with not having to wait for an imaginary gas meter person. Joy! So what do I get up to, well most of the day is spent doing some work - not easy work mind, quite fiddly and a question of information overload versus design layout - think of the users Abi, think of the users! So a good old chunk of the day is spent doing that.

I do take a break however sort of mid afternoon with a trip to the super market to pick up a whole variety of odds and sods that I need to create tonights dinner which is Marinated Chicken with Whole Spices served with Spiced Pilau Rice and Nuts. It's a first for me in terms of cooking the recipe but what the hell, might as well give it a go :)

The afternoon is then taken up with a little more work and trying to catch up on the mound of washing that was generated from the wedding weekend, which ultimately was slightly wasted since a bird (and I'm talking the feathered kind) with an uncanny knack for precision bombing did a rather good job of splatter painting most of it. That will probably serve me right for being smug about a similar experience which happened to our neighbour last week. What goes around comes around I guess ;)

Then it's time for tea, and I have to say I rather enjoyed it, it was certainly a change from what we usually have (and I have to say we were getting stuck in a rut with the same old things). I also learn't a very valuable lesson too, don't eat chillies! Bugger me, despite the fact they had "mild" scrawled over the packets they were feisty sods to say the least! Oh well, I'll know for next time :)

We watch Churchill: The Hollywood Years tonight and it's rather good with a host of UK stars including Rik Mayall and Vic Reeves. The plot is simple, Winston Churchill was in fact an american soldier and good old chubby chops as we know him was a hired hand to do a bit of public speaking now and again, King George V was a penny pinching drunk and Hitler liked wearing Tu-Tu's. All in all good fun :)

Antony Sher as Hitler
Even Dictators get bad hair days

I should however mention that whilst Churchill was entertaining it wasn't our first choice. Anatomy of Hell (or Anatomie de l'enfer) had also made it's way through our letterbox, and well, to be brutally honest it was just a little too graphic for me. And to accomplish that is an achievement considering I managed to sit all the way through Baise Moi and Irreversible - 2 french films of a similar "genre" shall we say.

There obviously is no accounting for taste ;)
