Pizza without the Guilt
Lots of things to do today, such as getting quotes out, writing documentation and invoicing and somehow I had to get a 2 hour session down the gym in prepartion for a meal out with some old work collegues down in Newbury.
The gym was great! I was the only person there so no waiting for machines or anything which meant I zipped through my routine without interruption and burnt of close to 1200 calories. I'd knew that we were going to Pizza Express for dinner (they very handily publish the calorie content of their food on their website) so I'd already decided on what I was having and how many calories that contained so had a good indicator of what I needed to do to circumvent any podge build up.
Reading this, I'm sounding like a freak, but there is a reason why I'm being calorie controlled in that I'm hoping that at some point next year we can start a family but to do that I need to be in tip top condition which is why I'm trying to lose the weight and get fit down the gym.
But, back to the story. So, Gym done I then come back home and do a bit more work and then suffer the luxury of having a bath at 4PM in the afternoon, what a guilty pleasure that was, but very enjoyable! I then get ready to go out and meet the ladies and lads and have a good catchup.
Our meal was very nice, and I was super happy with my choices from Pizza Express's Leggera range which is their "healthier" stuff. I did have the banoffee pie for pud, but since I'd already burnt those calories off I didn't feel guilt for any one of the many pleasurable mouthfuls of lovliness!
It was lovely to see them all again, and thankfully gave me the reassurance that the end of my brief employment at the last place really was the best thing that could have ever happened to me.
Thinking about this now, I think all restuarants should be responsible and have on their menu's the nutritional information of each dish, it really would be handy to know at face value.
